If you get a fairly decent amount of visitors per month, and if you want reliable source monthly income, I highly suggest Google AdSense. It's pretty simple to use and give you very good results with little to no effort if you are already generating big amount of traffic to your website.
Even though AdSense is simple to use, you can make mistakes that might cause your account to banned...
Mistake #1: Clicking Your Own Ads
That is strictly forbidden and you aren't allowed to do that. If you do that, you are risking your account and your entire source of income. Even though that is forbidden, Google employers understand that there is possibility of you clicking on an ad accidentally so they are tolerating it. But as I've already said, if you do it too often, you are risking your account.
Mistake #2: Asking others to click on your ads
That is forbidden as well. You shouldn't ask anyone in any way to click on your ads directly or indirectly. It's strictly forbidden.
Mistake #3: Ad placement
It's not allowed to put ads where they might seem to violate Google Terms Of Service. For example: under the pictures, under the title that is encouraging clicks...
Mistake #4: Submitting wrong name under your contact details
That is yet another thing that might cause ban. Some people do it even though I don't understand the logic behind it. If you submit wrong name, how do you think you will receive payment?
Over all, AdSense is easy to use and there are very detailed video instructions that you should watch before starting. This article should serve you only as reminder.
